Moresby Lake Project (2018)
Hydropower Facility Performance Analysis and Resource Assessment
The Moresby Lake Hydroelectric Project is located on Haida Gwaii, the traditional territory of the Haida Nation. The 6 MW live storage facility has been in operation since 1990 and is currently operated by [Atlantic Power Corporation](https://www.atlanticpower.com/). The Project area is particularly interesting from a climatological perspective, as it is one of the wettest places in North America, on average receiving over 5m of rain per year: ") (image source: Bevington et al. (2017)) Long-term regional climate and hydrological data were evaluated along with plant operation data to compare energy production against the resource potential over the period of commercial operation, and to evaluate the benefit of increasing the storage capacity of the reservoir. #### References 1.
